About us

OUR PLACE:

LATITUDE 46.55 NORTH / LONGITUDE 119.48 WEST

My wife and I, both artists, fled the city life in 1990. We found our farm at the base of Maryland Heights, a stone’s throw from the historic confluence of the Shenandoah and Potomac rivers. We believe our love of this land helps us nurture and grow amazing mushrooms like our Lion’s Mane and Oyster varieties. Our Shiitake’s grow off logs nestled between our pond and a fast-moving creek. The combination of this special place and our love and passion for fungi cultivation can’t help but produce amazing mushrooms.

OUR NAME:

Mama Quilla is the Inca goddess of the moon. We like to believe that as our mushrooms are growing in the night, they are being nourished by her moonlight.
